Frequently asked questions

Scans

What does a RatedWithAI scan check?

It loads your live page in a real browser and runs the axe-core rule set against it, covering WCAG 2.1 AA criteria plus additional best practices: colour contrast, image alt text, form labels, ARIA, keyboard access, heading structure and more. Each failing rule is listed with the elements that fail it and how serious it is.

Does a good score mean my site is ADA or WCAG compliant?

No. Automated testing finds only part of the accessibility issues on a site, and the results are information, not legal advice or a certification of compliance with the ADA, WCAG, the European Accessibility Act or any other law or standard. Keyboard and screen-reader testing by a person covers the rest.

Why couldn't the scan load my page?

The scanner only loads public pages. Pages behind a login, on a private network, or that block automated browsers cannot be tested.

Who can see my scan report?

Scan reports you create on our website can be opened by anyone who has their link. Do not scan pages whose content you need to keep private.

Plans and billing

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Free plan is $0 and gives you 5 scans a month with no signup and no card. Every violation is named, one remediation guide is unlocked, and each report has a shareable link.

What do the paid plans cost?

Starter is $29 a month and EAA / Agency is $199 a month. Billed annually, Starter is $278 a year and EAA / Agency is $1,900 a year (20% off). Payments are processed by Stripe.

What does Starter include?

100 scans a month, every remediation guide on every report, daily monitoring with email alerts on new issues, compliance audit trails, severity trend tracking, and export to PDF and CSV.

What does EAA / Agency include?

Unlimited scans, continuous monitoring, compliance audit trails, exportable PDF reports, a multi-site agency dashboard, white-label reports, priority support with an onboarding call, and SSO.

How do I cancel?

Go to ratedwithai.com/billing and enter the email you paid with. We email you a Stripe billing-portal link where you can cancel, switch plans or update your card, with no password needed. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Monitoring

How does monitoring work?

A monitored site is re-scanned on its schedule, daily or weekly. You get an email when the score falls or a rule that passed last time now fails, and when the score rises or a failing rule now passes. The email names the rules that appeared and disappeared. When nothing changed, you get a weekly summary instead.

The Shopify app

What does the RatedWithAI Accessibility app for Shopify do?

It scans your live storefront with axe-core: your home page, a collection page, a product page and the cart. Your store is scored at its worst page, not its average, and each problem is listed with the failing HTML, the WCAG rule it breaks and how serious it is. Nothing is added to your theme.

What does the Shopify app cost?

One paid plan at $29 a month with a 7-day free trial, billed by Shopify on your Shopify invoice. Before subscribing, each store gets one free check of its home page, showing the score, grade and each problem by name.

How do I cancel or change plan in the Shopify app?

Open the app's Plan screen. Switch to Free cancels the subscription with proration, and Start free trial subscribes again. Both work inside the app, with no need to contact support or reinstall.

What permissions does the Shopify app ask for?

One: read_products. It is used only to find a published product and collection page to scan. The app cannot read your orders or customers.

What happens when I uninstall the Shopify app?

Your store's session token is deleted when Shopify sends the uninstall webhook. Shopify's shop redaction request, which follows an uninstall, erases the stored session again along with any saved free-check result. Scan results are kept so a page can be compared over time; email us to have them deleted sooner.
